I've had quite a bit of morbid curiosities throughout my entire life. Throughout social media culture I've stumbled on various sites, blogs, articles, television documentary shows, and pictures that fed my need to know more about death, dying, corpses, decomposition, autopsies, embalming, burials, cremations, forensic pathology, and more. Recently I stumbled on a YouTuber and mortician by the name of Caitlin Doughty, who has a web series called "Ask a Mortician" and I was immediately drawn to her personality and topics of discussion.

Now a proud "Deathling", as she fondly calls her YouTube subscribers, everything about her, her knowledge, and work fascinated me to no end. She reminds me a lot of myself when I read or talk about morbid things (and just my goofy self in general) that I couldn't stop myself from binge-watching the majority of her videos about all things death related. Many of the things she talks about I already knew through my years of reading and research, not to mention my love for documentary shows like HBO's Autopsy and Forensic Files. But listening to the fun way she talks about it, her advocacy in the rights of grieving families, alternative burial options like green burials, she somehow makes it less scary when it comes to facing your own mortality.

Because of her, I decided to create a page called Morbid Curiosities dedicated to many topics that she has talked about, things I've always found fascinating, and things I want to learn more about. I also created another page dedicated to her called Iconic Corpses, which is the name she gives some of her videos in the series. Keep an eye out for tons of interesting stuff I have in store for this page, and keep in mind that if you're under 18 get the permission of your parent(s) before venturing further.

Happy death, fellow Deathlings
